Research
for Environmental and Energy Integration (within ESPCs)
High utility bills can be a frustrating and heavy burden for both government-site
facility managers and for private building owners. Performance-based
contracts, such as the Federal government's Energy Savings Performance
Contract (ESPC), provide a way to leverage cost savings from lower utility
consumption to buy building improvements.
High energy bills can also be accompanied by over consumption of other
resources and wasteful byproducts. Waste disposal imposes an economic
burden not only on the facility manager but on society as well. Savings
can be generated by reconfiguring processes and selecting source materials
that have fewer harmful byproducts. GEOMET can help you to identify
non-utility savings. GEOMET has developed a proven methodology that
integrates non-utility savings into performance-based contracts.
GEOMET has extensive experience in this area. We have performed research
work for both the U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory
(USACERL) and for the Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals, and Energy
(VDMME) under the sponsorship of the Federal Energy Management Program
(FEMP). We welcome your comments or questions about our efforts in this
area. Please email your comments to
