Assistant
Scientist I
Job Description:
Perform
standard microbiological/biomolecular techniques including: preparation
of growth media, bacteria and virus propagation, viability counting,
maintenance of culture collection, morphological/biochemical testing,
staining and microscopy techniques, clone PCR products, and isolate
proteins, lipids and nucleic acids.
Conduct characterization and identification methods such as: PCR, VNTR,
AFLP, sequencing, MIDI, ELISA, and PAGE.
Prepare and present briefing to Test Directors and customers.
Document laboratory procedures and prepare detailed reports.
Cover some weekend and after hour shifts; may also be requested to work
off-site during field-testing.
May be required to participate in an immunization program.
Must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a Department
of Defense Security Clearance.
BS
degree in microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology or related life
science from an accredited college or university. Must be able to execute
specified experiments in microbiology laboratory for biological defense
or environmental programs/projects with nominal supervision.
Laboratory Technician (Temporary)
Job Description:
Prefer 2 years of college courses in
a scientific field as additional experience.
Prepare sample containers in accordance with test procedures.
Assist with preparation and set-up of test facilities and procedures.
Operate laboratory instrumentation and perform laboratory procedures
after completion of training and certification requirements.
Responsible for documentation of all procedures/actions performed.
Assist with collection of data and preparing data
packages.
Assist with proper storage and disposal of the samples until analysis
is complete.
Coordinate with appropriate individuals to complete sample tracking
records.
Assist with method development.
A minimum of one
year specialized training in chemistry (or equivalent experience) and
one year experience in chemical laboratory operations. Able to work
with or around highly toxic materials. Able to learn to operate analytical
instrumentation (primarily gas chromatographs). Must be competent in
basic computer software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc).
Must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a Department of Defense
Security Clearance
Work will require incumbent to work with hazardous industrial chemicals
as well as various chemical warfare agents. Incumbent must be able to
wear standard industrial respirators and/or M-40 Mask for protection
from industrial chemicals/chemical warfare agents for extended periods
of time. In addition, the incumbent may be required to stand for extended
periods while performing routine laboratory work.
Sr. Mechanical
Technician (2)
Job Description:
Develop schedules,
individual work packages and work breakdown packages.
Coordinate and compile manpower, equipment and material costs.
Develop Earned Value Management System.
Coordinate and provide technical input to plans and reports and coordinate
staffing of plans and reports.
Coordinate test schedules and requirements throughout test process from
development of initial schedule through end of test and reporting.
Track daily, weekly, and monthly test output, finical information, and
monitor data reduction, analysis, and reporting.
Write, compile and submit monthly testing progress reports
Coordinate work changes, changes in scope and technical approach, and
coordinate changes with government.
Travel as required to support testing program.
Participation in the Chemical Personnel Reliability Program may be required.
Must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a Department
of Defense Security Clearance
Baccalaureate Degree
in science or engineering from an accredited university and at least
two years of project management experience with Department of Defense
contracts, preferably chemical defense programs, or MS degree in an
associated technical discipline. Must have experience in leading multidisciplinary
teams of chemists, scientist, and/or engineers in the planning and execution
of test programs. Must have experience in marketing, identifying customer
requirements, developing cost-effective solutions, leading proposal
efforts, preparing cost estimates, planning, and executing multiple
projects.
Sr. Mechanical
Technician - IV
Job Description:
Train to operate,
and compile test data for various detectors.
Knowledge of test locations, understand procedures for capturing all
types of field test data, and the collection of field samples in accordance
with test procedures.
Perform maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and exhaust
systems including replacement of worn belts, greasing of bearings, repair
of fans, blowers, and discharge stacks, and adjustment of volume dampers
and hood baffles in test fixtures.
Must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a Department
of Defense Security Clearance.
Specialized training
and at least five years Senior experience in the calibration, operation,
maintenance, fabrication, and repair of mechanical test equipment. Must
be familiar with building exhaust systems and as a minimum, be able
to perform maintenance, including replacement of worn belts, greasing
of bearings, repair of fans blowers, and discharge stacks, and adjustment
of volume dampers and hood baffles in test fixtures. Fabrication/welding
of test fixtures. Desired to have experience with vibration systems
and with cryogenic liquids, high-pressure liquids, and oxygen displacing
vapors (CO2 and N2). Experience using various instrumentation such as
temperature, relative humidity, air velocity, pH, conductivity, and
particulate concentration.
