GEOMET, headquartered in Germantown, Maryland, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Versar, Inc., based in Springfield, Virginia. GEOMET was founded in 1967 to provide technical services in the chemical and biological sciences to public and private sector clients, including government agencies, industrial and commercial corpora¬tions, research institutions, and professional associations. Versar acquired GEOMET in December 1985. As a wholly owned subsidiary, GEOMET operates independently while benefiting from access to a large cadre of complementary personnel and facilities, through Versar. Currently, GEOMET has four operating divisions:

• Chemical Defense Laboratory Division (CDLD)
• Life Support Systems Division (LSSD)
• Special Projects/National and International Programs Division (SP/NIPD)
• Engineering Technology Division (ETECHD)
