Support for Life Sciences and Chemical Agent Test Facilities located at Dugway Proving Ground, UT
Major task orders include field planning support, CB methods development, expert consulting, work package management, operational testing (laboratory, chamber, or field), sample analysis, process monitoring, CB monitoring and detection, data analysis, development of procedures, study plans, reports, etc., and training. GEOMET’s CB staff is also responsible for quality assurance/quality control, supply management (chemicals, equipment, etc.), waste management, compliance (safety, surety, security, fire, etc.), facility management, training (safety, surety, agent handler, monitoring, quality assurance, etc.), instrument maintenance, and housekeeping.
The Life Sciences Laboratory is organized to provide high-level scientific and professional expertise and technical services in support of the development, testing, and evaluation of DPG tests, including chemical and biological agent interactions with detection/identification systems, protective equipment and decontamination survivability of equipment.
Major task orders include growth and purification of simulants and organisms (including Biolab Safety level 3 operations). Simulant agent materials are frequently disseminated to challenge detection and protection equipment and to evaluate concepts of deployment of detection and protection equipment. CB analytical and study type activities are performed to support programs to satisfy Army, State, and Federal Government agencies such as DHS.
